How Live Event Productions set up a professional quoting process with Rentman
About Live Event Productions
Craig Trosclair has spent over 25 years in live event production. He got his start right after college, discovered a love for the craft through church tech volunteering, and never looked back. After building his career across sales, on-site delivery, technology, and operations, he used that experience to launch his own company, Live Event Productions.
Based in New Orleans, Live Event Productions offers end-to-end production services, from corporate AV to festival support. The company works with a handful of direct clients, taking care of everything from technology planning and floor plans to on-site support. Alongside that, Live Event Productions also takes on pre-production consultancy work, supporting other production houses on their projects. Its guiding principle: relationships matter, and results matter.
Running the business solo means every process counts. For Craig, quoting was the priority from day one.
The challenge: getting quoting right from day one
When Craig launched his company, he had one clear priority: getting his quoting process right from the start. As a solo operator, he needed to be able to send professional, branded quotes quickly, without spending hours on each one or relying on workarounds like PDF attachments and Excel templates.

He also knew he needed something that could grow with the company, especially as he added his own inventory or crew. Having a solution that could be tailored to his needs was another important factor.
Finding Rentman
Craig found Rentman through a vendor partner in Atlanta. They were setting up the platform and, knowing Craig's background in inventory and warehouse operations, brought him in to help structure their setup. Working across both accounts gave him a close look at how Rentman was built and how it worked in practice.
Craig did his own research into the quoting side, and Rentman's customizable quote templates stood out straight away. He could tailor them to his brand and replicate that look across every project, exactly what he was looking for. On top of that, Rentman's flexible plans meant he could start with what he needed and expand as the business grew. That was enough to convince him it was the right fit.
Getting started with Rentman & first impressions
Craig was up and sending quotes within his first weeks on the platform. With the document template builder, customizing the layout, colors, and structure to match his brand was simple and quick. The result was a professional quote that felt true to his brand.

One of his first real tests was a major client he had a big event booked with later in the year. He sent them the quote through Rentman's online quotes feature, which lets recipients view and sign the document online. The response was positive. It looked professional, felt polished, and was a step up from simply receiving a PDF attachment by email.

How Live Event Productions uses Rentman
For Craig, two things have made the biggest difference so far. The online quotes and digital signatures have changed how he follows up with clients. He can now see when a quote has been viewed and gets a notification the moment it is signed, so he no longer has to chase people with follow-up emails to check if they've seen the quote.

Rentman has also proven flexible enough to adapt to where the business is right now. Since Craig is only just starting to invest in his own equipment, he has built a virtual inventory in Rentman. When he needs to source gear for a project, he generates a project prep sheet and sends it out to vendors as an RFP, a practical way to manage equipment sourcing until he is ready to add his own.

What's next for Live Event Productions
While quoting and project management are the priority for now, Craig plans to expand his use of Rentman as the business grows. For him, it's a foundation to grow into rather than grow out of.
"The scalability was attractive to me. I'm at an entry point right now, quotes and inventory, but I can keep adding as the business grows. I don't have to pay for things I'm not using yet."
