About EPH Group

Founded in 1998, EPH Group is a full-service production company based in South Africa. From music festivals and corporate galas to award shows and brand activations, EPH Group handles production for a wide range of events, bringing 500 to 1,000 projects to life each year. Their clients include major banks and brands such as FNB, Nedbank, Telkom, and PwC.

As Managing Director of EPH Group, Cameron Pheiffer is focused on taking the company into its next chapter. For him, keeping up with that pace and continuing to innovate takes more than having the right equipment.

The Challenge

Before Rentman, EPH Group ran their operations across spreadsheets and basic invoicing tools. There was no shared system connecting the operational part of the company with leadership.

Equipment management was manual. There was no visibility into what gear was available or where it was. The team relied on printed packing slips and WhatsApp to coordinate gear for each job, a system that left room for error and, occasionally, left gear behind.

Quoting was just as slow. Without a shared system and standardized pricing, putting together a quote meant starting from scratch every time. It could take days to get a quote back to a client.

Quoting is where Cameron notices the biggest difference. With all their equipment and pricing already set up in Rentman, the team can build accurate quotes fast and get them out the same day a client asks.

Equipment Management and Warehouse

Before Rentman, a forgotten item on the loading dock was a real risk. Now, with equipment tracking and real-time availability in place, the team has a clear overview of what’s available, what’s out on a job, and what still needs to return to the warehouse.

Planning and Growth

EPH Group uses Rentman’s project overview to plan ahead. At the start of each year, Cameron reviews the previous year’s jobs, which clients came in, which months were busiest, how sales tracked, and uses that to reach out early for repeat business.

What’s next for EPH Group

With the busy season picking up again in August, EPH Group is focused on getting their full inventory tracked and ready. They are currently tagging all their equipment, including sound, mixing consoles, LED screens, lights, and cables, with RFID tags via GearTracking, which is integrated with Rentman’s warehouse module.

Beyond that, EPH Group plans to expand their warehouses and grow their inventory, including new LED screens.

They also have some exciting shows coming up, such as Comic Con in September, where they will set up seven stages, including the main stage for international guests, and a large PwC conference in February that they are already preparing for.
