The busy season is in full swing, and we know that every click, scan, and decision matters. We’ve fine-tuned Rentman with over 30 improvements, each designed to simplify tasks, reduce friction, and make sure you can focus on what really matters.

From smarter planning to smoother scheduling, these 30+ updates are grouped by topic so you can jump straight to what’s most relevant for your day-to-day.

 

1. A smarter multi-button

We’ve simplified how you add function and equipment groups. One unified button now remembers your most recent selection, helping you stay in your flow with fewer clicks.

 

2. Clearer overviews in tasks, notes, and files

It’s now easier to scan information and stay on top of details:

  • Task statuses use color indicators and show assigned team members to give you a quick overview of progress.
  • Notes are labeled by subproject and confidentiality level, so the right context is always visible.
  • You can now choose to show notes on invoices, adding clarity for your clients where needed.
  • Hover over file names to view them in full, even if they’re too long to display at first glance.

 

3. Streamlined search for smoother workflows

Finding what you need just got easier. We’ve added more search and filter options in key places to help you move faster, especially when your workspace is full of items. Here’s what’s new:

  • Search email text templates to quickly find the right message
  • Look up items during inventory counts to stay accurate and efficient
  • Search for document templates directly in the configuration module
  • Subrentals now come with their own search bar
  • Filter your project list to show only invoiced projects

 

4. Plan and price with more accuracy

Accurate pricing and better visibility mean fewer mistakes and more control. Here’s what’s new to help you stay on top of your equipment planning: 

  • Recalculate prices for physical combinations based on their contents, so your pricing stays relevant for each specific project.
  • Repair history is now visible in serial numbers, giving you a clearer picture of an item’s condition.
  • Project totals, including weight, volume, and power consumption, are now displayed in the sidebar. No need to open the project to get this info.
  • Equipment exports to spreadsheets now include image URLs, making reports more visual and informative.
  • Add notes to subrentals and include them directly in your subrental document templates.
  • The stock location API is now available via Zapier, making it easier to automate and track stock movements between locations.

 

5. Resolve shortages faster with visual context

When resolving shortages, you can now hover over alternative items to see images, helping you make faster, more informed decisions. You also have full control over quantities, so you can choose exactly how much to swap in without guesswork.

 

6. Equipment Tracking improvements

We’ve made it easier to track, manage, and double-check your equipment in the warehouse, so you stay in control, even during the busiest times:

  • Search that understands you in the Warehouse tracking log: Word order no longer matters, searching for “DJ Kit Flightcase” or “Flightcase DJ Kit” gives the same result.
  • Combination contents stay visible after searching for and editing, your combination, helping you make better choices faster.
  • Scan return now links to the project, so you can instantly see where the scanned item came from.
  • New booking conflict indicators show if a serial number is already reserved in another project, avoiding manual double booking via the serial number selector.
  • Create slips showing combination contents directly from the serial number’s page.
  • Book incomplete combinations if part of the content is marked as lost, keeping your flow intact.
     

7. Crew Scheduling improvements

We’ve made it easier to manage your crew and keep planning crystal clear:

  • Open the crew timeline in full screen directly from the planner in your Crew member module  for better visibility.
  • Function groups are now automatically sorted by time, so we’ve removed manual drag handles to reduce errors.
  • Functions that are excluded from pricing are also excluded from the calculation grid, keeping totals accurate.
  • Compensation hours are no longer counted as worked hours, giving you a more precise time overview.
  • From the Crew planner, jump into a project straight from the bottom timeline using a new shortcut—fewer clicks, faster access.

 

8. Platform updates

A few small upgrades that bring more clarity and personalization to your workspace:

  • Add images to contacts like company logos or profile pictures. These images can also be included in your documents, making them more personal and professional, especially useful when sharing with clients.
  • “Repeat until” dates now auto-fill when creating recurring appointments. No more empty recurrence fields, your repeating events will now actually repeat.
  • View full remarks on hover in grid views. Remarks often go beyond the column width, so now you can simply hover to see the full text without needing to open anything.

 

9. Financial improvements

More flexibility and control over your financial documents:

  • Change the label for “discount” on your documents to better align with your brand or tone of voice. In the template editor, open the sum module and use the new “Label total discount” option under advanced settings.
  • If you're using the API, you can now choose to sync only finalized invoices with external systems, keeping your financial data clean, accurate, and ready to report.

 

10. Mobile App improvements

Whether you're on-site, in transit, or managing tasks between jobs, these mobile improvements help you stay productive and responsive:

  • Add files to tasks directly in the app, perfect for quick uploads from your phone.
  • Swipe up or down to close drawers, making navigation faster and more intuitive.
  • Special days are now visible in the mobile app, so you’ll never miss an important date during busy weeks.
  • Haptic feedback when scanning gives you a subtle buzz to confirm your action.
  • Improved equipment search makes booking faster and more reliable, even from your phone.
