Financial information is sensitive data that you might not want to share with all users in your workspace. With this new update, you can restrict users from seeing any financial information — so your financial information is only accessible to the people that need access to it.
Restricting financial information for certain user roles
You can now have more control over what you want your crew or external users to be able to see inside your account.
For example, freelancers who work for many different companies don’t need to know all of the ins and outs of each company’s rental prices and margins. Your warehouse crew is a great help when it comes to making technical lists of required equipment — but they might not require insights into the financial side of your business. When they plan additional equipment, it is up to the account manager to choose to invoice it to the customer.
The restrictions mentioned above are also visible in the Rentman mobile app. This way you can allow freelancers and warehouse personnel to access projects on the go without allowing them to gain insights into your company's finances.
Access and use
Access to financial details is an account-wide permission. When you disable this for user roles they will not be able to see any information about prices, margins, crew rates, or costs within your workspace.
This feature is available within the Quoting & Invoicing add-on. If you do not have this add-on but would still like to try this feature, please reach out to us at [email protected].
Once you have access to this feature, you can switch financial permissions on or off for each user role within Configuration.
