Wessel Rozendaal, founder of Event Gear, started his journey in the event industry over 15 years ago. Initially working on the ground and later organizing large-scale events, he quickly realized that the real business wasn’t just in event organization, it was in equipment rentals. What started as a simple idea of renting DJ equipment to friends soon blossomed into a full-fledged event equipment rental company.

As demand for his services grew, Wessel saw an opportunity: rather than purchasing all the equipment himself, he could partner with other suppliers and create a unified marketplace for event rentals. Today, Event Gear is the first and only event rental marketplace in the Netherlands, offering everything from sound and lighting to decorations and catering.

With over 1,000 event requests in their first year as a marketplace, Event Gear is growing rapidly. They’re expanding their inventory, onboarding more partners, and even considering new rental locations across the Netherlands.
