We are looking for a Software Development Manager that ideally has 2 to 5 years of software development and people management experience to help us enrol the development team expansion plan. New scrum teams will be added the first half of 2021 and soon three Sri Lankan developers will join the team remotely. In close collaboration with the CTO the Development Manager will lead, coach and manage 15+ developers and the different scrum teams. You manage the Scrum masters and make sure development operations run smoothly.


Rentman’s workflow is developer-first, aiming to get things built as effectively as possible. The scrum teams consist of both front-end and backend, as fullstack developers, a scrum master and a product owner to keep short lines of communication with the vision of the product team.


Main responsibilities

  • In close collaboration with the CTO lead the the different scrum teams
  • People development; individual check-ins and coaching, bi-annual performance evaluations and learning & development
  • Grow development talent in the team, hire and onboard new colleagues
  • Manage, align and train scrum masters
  • Collaborate and manage relationships with the product team and other stakeholders
  • Manage and improve day-to-day development operations (e.g. keep Confluence up to date, improve flows in Jira, manage licenses, accounts and tooling)

    What you bring

    • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Science or similar.
    • 2 to 5 years of professional experience in a software development team working based on Scrum, preferably SaaS, in which you (partly) managed a team.
    • Strong leader, team-player and communicator: presenting and getting everyone on board for your ideas comes natural to you
    • Analytical skills, structured, logical thinking
    • Excellent communication skills, results driven, self-starting and having the ability to make change happen
    • Fluent English proficiency
